Seeking: San Francisco Area Counselors!
Do you live in or near San Francisco? Want to work outdoors this summer? We want YOU!
Begin and end your day in San Francisco – Bus transportation is provided to our all-outdoor camp, located lakeside at the Lafayette Reservoir! We are looking for camp counselors to ride our San Francisco bus with campers to and from camp each day. Once at camp, you will take on the role of a counselor. We have a variety of camp positions available!

Roughing It is an all outdoors day camp for children 4 to 16 years old. We are looking for counselors who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and enjoy working in the outdoors.

- Crafts Counselor
- Outdoor Survival Skills Counselor

Be a Bus Counselor: How It Works
- Meet up at one of our San Francisco camp bus stops, where you’ll board a yellow Roughing It Day Camp Bus (NOT Muni!).
- Check in by radio with our camp office.
- Supervise San Francisco campers on their bus ride to and from camp.
- Create a fun camp atmosphere on the bus by leading songs, car games, and cheers!
- Make bus safety a priority!
What are the dates?
Staff Training: June 11-June 16. Alternate training may be available for staff with academic conflicts. Contact us for details. Camp Sessions: Mondays – Fridays, June 18 – August 10.
What is the salary?

Do I drive the bus?
No. Professional bus drivers will drive the camp bus. Camp counselors ride the bus, supervise campers, and lead fun bus activities during the ride to and from camp.
