We had a marvelous week 9 Outdoor Explorer session full of games, music, and outdoor activites. Enjoy some of our favorite memories from the end of our 2012 summer:
The last two days have been packed with many fun opportunities to explore the outdoors and learn to navigate using different tools. Campers learned to use compasses and GPS devices. Some campers also chose to learn more about backpacking as well.
We had a great day at the reservoir today! The weather was much more mild making campers eager to participate in all activities. Fishing, again, was a popular choice. Everybody enjoys their time down on the docks with Fisherman Josh.
Our first day of camp was a fantastic one. It was a quite warm but campers did a great job staying cool and having a positive attitude. Our groups, the Awesome Sparkly Fire Dragons with Fireball Star Cocoons, Yes! (Kate’s group), C.P.K. (Andrew’s group), and the F.F.A. (Calder’s group), jumped right into the flow of camp. Campers learned
We’re having a great week! Check out these shots from the docks and a couple of other exciting activities.
Today was Outback Day in Outdoor Explorers. Outback Day is a day when choice periods are a bit longer so campers can really get into an activity, go on a longer hike, complete a special challenge, do a more in-depth craft, or fish from another dock around the reservoir. Today
Thanks for your patience friends. We’ve had a great start to our session. Campers have been settling in, making new friends, and participating in all kinds of outdoor activities. Today we did lots of fishing, rowing, and crafts. Fishing on the docks with Fisherman Josh is a blast. There is

Today was filled with many fun activities. Campers did a lot of fishing down on the docks. Many explorers reeled in fish and/or crawdads making for lots of action and excitement for Fisherman Josh and myself!
We had a great first day of the session today! Campers learned the rules and how to stay safe, got their choice selections squared away, and jumped right into activities. Popular choices today were fishing, hiking, and crafts.
Our last day of the session ended on a high note. Campers did a great job exhibiting the skills they learned throughout the week. The Outdoor Olymipcs were the best yet! It was clear to me that campers really bonded in their groups this week and everyone made a new friend.
We had an awesome day with lots of great choice activities happening. The favorite was fishing, and campers in all choices had a fun time. Check out the pictures below.
Thanks to everyone who made it out the reservoir for our closing circle today! All of the groups performed skits and did a great job! Campers rehearsed and presented them for the entire camp and all the parents that were there. I was so proud of them!
