Weekly SuperChoice Activities for Summer 2025
5th grade all the way up to CILT Campers choose one 2.5 hour specialty clinic each Friday to focus on.
SuperChoice allows campers to specialize in more in-depth aspects of their favorite program activities. Program counselors work hard to develop activities that are challenging, exciting, and different from the normal program lessons.
Week 1
Breakfast Brunch Bonanza at Outdoor Cooking! Join our culinary adventure as campers cook up some pancakes, French toast, omelets, hash browns, and yogurt parfaits! Experience the joy of cooking in the great outdoors as you savor the flavors of a delightful and delicious brunch!
Come test your paddling skills and teamwork with the Relay Bucket challenge that will not only require working with your team but also your endurance, speed and agility! See who can relay back and forth and fill their bucket with the most ping pong balls!
Come compete in a team as you and your teammates try to catch the most fish. Use all your skills and try to become a fishing pro. There will be prizes and lots of time for fishing at our favorite spot s. See you there!
Cool off this Friday at the pool during Super Choice where we will be helping you to practice swimming skills during our dive clinic. Hone your diving skills during our clinic where you can get swim staff feedback on how to perfect your form. We can’t wait to see your dives!
Get into character and step into the world of mystery and intrigue. The Baroness’s most prized possession, the Starlight Pendant, has vanished, and everyone is a suspect. Can you uncover the secrets, follow the clues, and solve the case before the trail goes cold?
Put your lacrosse knowledge and skill to the test in our fun tournament as you cradle, pass, and score out on the field! Our fun-filled tournament will require teamwork, sportsmanship, and skill to be victorious!
It’s time for a treasure hunt! Explore the reservoir with the help of GPS tracking devices to locate the hidden waypoints and solve clues at each location to earn points. Split into teams and use the coordinate trackers to guide your group to the points.
Take on a new perspective and look at the world through your five senses, isolating and exploring each sense. Experience the environment using touch, smell, taste, sight, and sound in exciting ways along the Vista Point trail!

Week 2
Spice up your Friday with a sizzling adventure at Outdoor Cooking! Dive into a culinary fiesta where campers create delicious street tacos with chips, salsa, guacamole, and end it off with a Mexican inspired dessert! We can’t wait to see what you cook up!
Come join the fishing crew as we row to new areas around the Res and fish straight from the boats. Practice various casting techniques and help us catch legendary Big Fred. See you there!
Come out to battle for the flags in a classic game adapted for the water. Maneuver your kayak around the Reservoir and win glory for your team by stealing the enemy’s flag and defending your own. Bring all your best Roughing It Spirit and kayaking skills and we’ll see you down at the docks! This is a chance to complete and level up your kayak skills!
Get your game on as we go through the basics of water polo, including eggbeater kicks, ball handling, shooting, defense, and maneuvering past opponents. At the end we will put teams together for a final showdown of skill, teamwork and H2O fun!

Welcome to Roughing It’s very own race around the reservoir trail. Teams of two will compete around the Res at each pit stop where a challenge will await them! After completing a series of mental/physical challenges, we will see which team will be first to cross the finish line and win Roughing It’s first ever Amazing Race!
Have you ever had a dream you wish you just could remember? Make sure you never forget another one by creating a super fun dreamcatcher. Using embroidery hoops and yarn, you can customize this cool craft to catch all your wildest dreams! You can also test your skills with macrame creations!
Week 3
Embark on a culinary journey to Italy right here! Test your cooking skills with homemade Italian Dishes and create a delicious dessert. Join us under the summer sky for a delicious celebration of flavors, where the spirit of Italy meets the great outdoors!
Put your wits to the test to help complete the Olympic Scavenger Hunt! With a bunch of challenges along the way, your kayaking skills will be put to the test as you search for the Olympic flame! See you out on the water! This is a chance to complete and level up your kayak skills, try leading a paddle talk or leading the voyage!
Create your own rod out of a reed this week at fishing super choice! Use your survivalist skills to help you create a fishing rod and find your own bait! See which fish you can catch with your survival skills!
Are you ready for the ultimate pool challenge? Our obstacle course combines diving, swimming, and balance skills, offering an exciting adventure with tons of fun twists, from high dives to dive toys! Grab your friends and see if you have what it takes to conquer the course and be the ultimate champion!

Volleyball Tournament Dive into the excitement at our highly anticipated Volleyball Tournament! Bump, set, and spike your way to victory out on the court! No matter the skill level, come join us for a fun Friday of teamwork, friendship, and, most importantly, volleyball!
Create your own birdhouse using recycled materials and then come birding this Friday during Super Choice! After hearing all the excitement about birding, we can’t wait to get to show you all the birds that call the reservoir home. We can’t wait to explore with you!
Hone your wood working skills in creating wooden coasters, picture frames for your camp memories, and mini wooden planters to plant seedlings in! Work on your sanding skills, creative planning, and working with tools!
Week 4
Iron Chef Come to the Outdoor Chef Cook-Off! Test your creativity and resourcefulness to cook a meal from our list of food supplies in a yummy competition that ends with a potluck to remember! We can’t wait to see what you cook up with your group!
Kayak around the Whole Reservoir Explore all of the limits of the reservoir and see if you can help us find a new beach or dock to stop and enjoy a snack! We will explore hidden coves, and not a single inch of the reservoir will go unexplored! Listen to the stories of the reservoir. Take this opportunity to level up your kayak skills by planning a reservoir voyage!
Hike to the beach and race against your friends as you master fishing skills—baiting a hook, casting with precision, reeling in your catch, and showing off your fish knowledge. Can you be the fastest angler at camp? Come find out and reel in the fun!
Watersports We’ll be playing all your favorite sports in the pool, like diving, water polo, basketball!! We will put teams together for a final water polo showdown, where you can show off your awesome swimming skills. Come on down and be a champ!

Week 5
Indulge in a sweet escape at our Dessert Delights Day at Outdoor Cooking! Unleash your inner pastry chef as you create mouthwatering treats over a hot grill, from gooey s’mores to decadent campfire cones. Join us for a delightful adventure at the reservoir, where the only thing sweeter than the desserts is the joy of making summer camp memories!
Put your skills to the test! Tackle the more difficult obstacle challenges in the reservoir, and quickly maneuver the obstacles! This includes testing your steering, communication, and endurance! Then paddle to the other side of the reservoir and to a beach. Take this opportunity to level up in your kayaking skills!
This week at fishing super choice we will be traveling on the road less traveled and see what we can catch from the Ranger Station dock! Who knows what might be waiting for you to catch in this unexplored part of the water!

Dino has gotten disoriented somewhere along the rim trail and needs your help to make it back in time for closing circle. Work together using orienteering skills, maps, compasses to find Dino and get him safely back to camp.
Hey campers! Get ready to dive into the world of air-dry clay and make your own awesome bowls, cups, and cool sculptures! You’ll have a blast shaping, molding, and creating whatever you can dream up—plus, you get to take your masterpieces home when they’re done!
