Ryan Sintchak
Waterfront Director, 2nd Year Staff Member
Santa Clara University
Joining us for his second year, Ryan is from Moraga and just finished up his first year at Santa Clara University. In high school, he was a Scholar Athlete 4 years in a row at Campolindo High School for soccer and football. He became an Eagle Scout and Mountaineer for Troop 212 Moraga in 2022. Ryan brings a ton of fishing experience here to Roughing It. He has a merit badge in fishing, has taught kids to fish, and even has been fishing in Alaska. This summer, Ryan is taking on a new role of Waterfront Director and is excited to welcome the campers to the reservoir!
Connor Stevens
Assistant Waterfront Director, 1st Year Staff Member
Chico State University – Anthropology major
Connor is spending his first summer here with us, and we are excited to have him! He is a rising senior at Chico State University, where he studies Anthropology. He loves to be outdoors and on the water, with extensive kayaking experience and has participated in Outward Bound. Connor is excited to share his knowledge and help campers learn to kayak and experience the reservoir!
Kieran Mein
Canoe Counselor, 1st Year Staff Member
University of Oklahoma – Sports Management major
This is Kieran‘s first summer at Roughing It. He is currently in his fourth year studying Sports Management at the University of Oklahoma. Kieran has been a coach in the past and has played a variety of competitive sports at De La Salle. Kieran is a seasoned camper with a love for the outdoors. He is also experienced in canoeing, rowing, kayaking, and fishing. We are excited to see Keiran share his experiences and help campers learn and connect to the outdoors this summer!
Marina Bahamonde-Partlan
Rowing Counselor, 1st Year Staff Member
CSU Northridge – Business Administration & Marketing major
Marina is joining the Waterfront program for her first summer at Roughing It. Marina is attending CSU Northridge and majoring in Business Administration & Marketing. She is from San Francisco with years of experience with Sea Scouts. Marina has been rowing, sailing, kayaking, and powerboating since she was 15 and taken part in technical rowing competitions. Marina is excited to share her knowledge and love for the water with campers at the waterfront this summer!
Garrison "Ty" Norvell
Fishing Counselor, 1st Year Staff Member
UC Davis
Ty is an Oakland native who is excited to be spending his first summer with us at the reservoir! He just finished his first year at UC Davis and has a ton of experience of attending various camps, along with camping and kayaking! He also attended and worked at the Oakland Zoo Camp. Ty has been fishing all his life and has plenty of knowledge to share with the campers. We are excited to see how many fish the campers will catch with Ty’s help!
Olivia Moorehead
Kayak Counselor, 1st Year Staff Member
CSU Channel Islands – Environmental Studies major
Olivia is joining us for the first time this summer. She works as a waterfront recreational assistant and attends Cal State Channel Islands. She has multiple years of waterfront experience and is an environmental studies major which makes her perfect to lead our waterfront activities. Olivia enjoys rock climbing in her free time, and spending time outdoors. She attended camps like Camp Galileo as a child and is excited to bring her expertise to Roughing It this summer!
