Meet our Support Staff

Josh Evans

Office Supplies Assistant, 1st Year Staff Member Willamette University — Environmental Science major I am a student at Willamette University studying Environmental Science. I enjoy being outdoors and I run for the Willamette cross country and track teams. I live near the Lafayette Reservoir and I run there often. I play the cello and I enjoy spending time with friends and family. At the start of the fall semester, I will be working as an Opening Days (new student orientation) leader at my school. I look forward to working for Roughing It Day Camp.

Zoe Wessel

Office HR Assistant, 1st Year Staff Member Skidmore College — Physiological Science major Hi! I’m Zoe! I am going to be a junior at Skidmore College this fall and studying Health & Human Physiological Sciences. I love being in the outdoors and working on a team with others. I attended the Roughing It Horse Camp for a few years when I was younger, so I am so excited to be back! I previously worked in a customer interaction/service oriented job, so I am delighted to be a part of the connection between parents/campers and the camp here at Roughing It.

Kaydee Tu

Office Assistant / Media Coordinator, 1st Year Staff Member Cal Poly San Luis Obispo — Business Administration major with Information System concentration I am a second year student at Cal Poly, majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Information Systems and minors in Asian Studies, Chinese, and Statistics. I enjoy badminton, golf, and painting in my free time. I am back at home in Orinda for the summer and want to give back to the community! As the media coordinator, I will be in charge of putting together the weekly newsletters for families and staff. I am excited to be an office assistant and be in a warm environment with others that are looking to have fun!

Office Supplies Assistant, 1st Year Staff Member Middlebury College — Computer Science major I am a collegiate swimmer at Middlebury College studying to receive a degree in computer science. I love to cook, surf, ski, run, and go on adventures. I value my relationships with my friends, family, and coaches. I am looking forward to a great summer at Roughing It!

Alphonso Palermo

Media Assistant and Photographer, 1st Year Staff Member Sonoma State University — Studio Arts I thoroughly enjoy helping a camper or player achieve a goal they have set for themselves. It is very rewarding to help in someone’s growth or education no matter how gradual, even if it is only 1% better every day. I have had photography and design experience from my studies at both Sonoma State University and California College of the Arts. I cannot wait to capture all the beautiful moments at camp.
