The last two days have been packed with many fun opportunities to explore the outdoors and learn to navigate using different tools. Campers learned to use compasses and GPS devices. Some campers also chose to learn more about backpacking as well.
Hunter worked with campers on staying safe in the outdoors. This week they learned about first aid and caring for somebody who has been injured.
Of course there has been lots of fishing happening all week, as well as soccer and even some cooking. Campers were great about being flexible with our cooking choice. Because of the dry heat at the reservoir, the rangers put out a ‘no barbecues’ memo. Instead of baked apples, we made a delicious fruit salad instead!
We’re excited for our last day of the session and looking forward to the Outdoor Olympics and Closing Ceremonies!
